Year 4 Tree planting in the park

Year 4 took part in tree planting with the organisation Trees for Cities.
Although a cold and labour intensive experience, the children thoroughly enjoyed learning how to plant a tree and planting their own.
Zoe and Felix from Trees for Cities were on hand to explain the process and help the children dig through the soil.

Trip to the British museum

On Wednesday 15th November, we were fortunate enough to visit the British Museum.  We have been learning about the Egyptians and so went on a voyage of discovery.  It was fascinating to see all the exhibits and learn more about mummification.  We loved seeing the various artefacts and learning about different areas of Egyptian life.  We walked nearly 12,000 steps and were very tired on our return.  Here are some pictures of our journey that we would like to share with you.

Tree planting workshop

We were lucky to have a visitor come into our school to carry out a Tree planting workshop.  The workshop focused on our environment and how it changes, how it grows and what happens when people stop caring for the environment.  We had the chance to discuss how trees grow, what they need to grow and survive.  We even planted an acorn in the hope we can grow our own tree in a little pot.   We then worked in groups to identify important features of what supports the healthy growth of trees.  We would like to share some pictures with you.  We will be meeting Zoe from the workshop again in a couple of weeks as we will be planting our own trees in the park.
